After scoring points with two killer split 12"s from Grimelock, Saviour and Alchemyst, plus a handful of well-received download-only singles, Belgium's Stainage crew step into the new year with their third vinyl release, this time from Antwerp's Science aka Crypt and Scypus. This undiscovered gem of a dubstep production duo have been causing much damage on dancefloors recently with their original tracks and DJ sets. 'Motion Tween' has been rinsed out at every serious night in the city and across Belgium in the past year, and so only naturally the task fell to the Stainage crew to finally get it into the public realm. On the menu for the original version are big bashy beats, ravey stab hooks and a rolling deep bass that can cause earthquakes on a grown up soundsystem. Flip it, and Von D is on the remix treatment, stirring up even more bass filth with a contrasting sheen of vocal soul. One of dubstep's newest rising stars and a remixer in high demand, he adds some sticky female vocals, shifts the beat template to a different swing and throws in his trademark bass hooks. Once you've tasted it, it's hard to get out of your system. Nick Argon : " ... a dangerous tune. It will stick in your head for days."
